Dust extraction in iron foundries

Dust extraction in iron foundries

Why to apply dust extraction in iron foundries?

Every metal product has to go through lots of technological processes before it achieves its final form. During these processes raw metals are modified into concrete products specified by their shapes and technological characteristics.

A part of the individual process is the creation of dust elements which spread into the surrounding areas, which is undesirable.

The purpose of extraction and filtration equipment is for the extraction of dust from as close as possible to its source, which is the way to stop it spreading into the surrounding areas.

How to apply dust extraction in iron foundries?

For dust extraction in iron foundries it is necessary to use correctly the suitable extracting device and covers, in the way that they are placed as close to the dust elements source as possible in order to secure their effective capture, but without stopping the operation.

Extracted dust is led by means of an extracting pipe system, which is in thick, anti-abrasive design, into the extraction and filtration equipment, where the separation of dust from extracted air particles takes place.
In summer the clean, filtered air is lead into an outdoor area and in winter back into a hall area, the result being an expressive reduction of heating costs. Depending on the extracted air particle characteristics, interceptors are installed in front of the extraction and filtration entrance. These interceptors separate parts of the dust elements, catch sparks and cool down the extracted air particles to an acceptable temperature for the filtering equipment.

Choice of dust extracting equipment in iron foundries

For dust extraction in iron foundries we recommend CARM GH series filters. The size of extraction and filtration equipment we recommend is dependant on the type and amount of extracted dust.
The filtration equipment must show continual extracting performance and therefore is equipped with an interceptor.
